About this book

What if the world beneath your feet holds a sunlit land where monsters roam and human beings live as slaves?

David Innes funds an invention built to bore through rock. With its elderly inventor, Abner Perry, he rides the iron mole deep into the Earth. Their journey brings them to Pellucidar, an inner world where the sun hangs forever at noon, prehistoric beasts roam, and night never comes.

Here, the winged reptilian Mahars rule human tribes through fear and mental power. Their fierce Sagoth guards take Innes captive. Among the prisoners is Dian the Beautiful, a proud, brave woman of Amoz. In Edgar Rice Burroughs’s adventure, discovery becomes a struggle for freedom, and a young explorer must learn to lead.
