About this book

In a Paris of fortunes and sudden death, who stands to gain—and who can outwit Arsène Lupin?

Arsène Lupin knows how to outwit the police with charm and nerve. Now Maurice Leblanc’s gentleman burglar becomes an investigator, facing a hidden enemy in a case driven by inheritance. Money and family claims sit at its heart, along with a dangerous question: who gains when someone dies?

The Teeth of the Tiger draws you through a long chain of clues, with new facts arriving just when earlier ones seem settled. Lupin often appears to know more than anyone else in the room. Yet sharp questions and sudden surprises keep the mystery moving and its secrets out of reach.

What is The Teeth of the Tiger about?

It follows Don Luis Perenna, secretly Arsène Lupin, as he investigates the poisoning of a rich American and the deaths of his heirs, while a hundred million francs and a set of tooth marks lead the police astray.

Who is Arsène Lupin in this book?

Lupin is the gentleman burglar who was officially declared dead. He returns as Don Luis Perenna, a decorated Foreign Legion soldier, and helps the Paris police on the case while hiding his past.

What do the teeth of the tiger mean?

The phrase names the strange tooth marks left in a bar of chocolate and in an apple at the crime scenes. The newspapers pick it up as a headline, and it becomes the label for the whole mystery.
