About this book

In the hills around Dunwich, a boy grows too fast, and his family prepares for something beyond the visible world.

In H. P. Lovecraft's The Dunwich Horror, the road leads into a decaying Massachusetts village where old stones stand among older rumors. Outside it lives the Whateley family. Old Whateley teaches his grandson Wilbur from ancient books, while strange sounds and boarded windows deepen the unease around their farm.

Wilbur seeks a better copy of the Necronomicon, a book many scholars consider dangerous. His request alarms Dr. Henry Armitage, the librarian of Miskatonic University. As Armitage works to understand the threat, local whispers and scholarly notes point toward knowledge that should stay buried—and forces beyond the world people know.

Dunwich is a place the land has marked

The tale opens not with a person but with a drive. Past Dean's Corners, a traveler takes the wrong turn and reaches a landscape that feels subtly wrong. The figures on crumbling doorsteps are so silent that one hesitates to ask the way.
