About James Madison
James Madison was born in Port Conway, Virginia, in 1751. He lived at Montpelier in Virginia and died there in 1836. He wrote essays for The Federalist Papers in 1787 and 1788, alongside Alexander Hamilton and John Jay. He served as United States president from 1809 to 1817.
