Frank Belknap Long (1901-1994) was an American writer of horror, fantasy, and science fiction, and a close friend of H. P. Lovecraft. A prolific contributor to the pulp magazines over a long career, he was an early and important figure in weird and cosmic-horror fiction.

Long is remembered for weird tales such as 'The Hounds of Tindalos,' an influential early contribution to cosmic horror, as well as a large body of science fiction and fantasy. Much of his work appeared in the pulps, and a number of his stories have entered the public domain.
