- Suo Chao challenges Yang Zhi, and their evenly matched fight ends by command; both receive rewards and promotion.
- Liang Zhongshu favors Yang Zhi and discusses sending costly birthday gifts, fearing another robbery like the previous year’s.
- Shi Wenbin orders Zhu Tong and Lei Heng to patrol separately and collect red leaves as evidence of their rounds.
- Lei Heng finds a naked man asleep inside a temple, calls him a bandit, and takes him bound to the village headman’s home.
