In Chapter 39, Jesus Christ appears among the Nephites after destructive signs mark His death, teaches His gospel, heals the afflicted, and authorizes twelve disciples to administer His Church. 2. At Bountiful, the resurrected Jesus appears, lets people touch His wounds, authorizes twelve disciples, teaches, heals, and blesses children.
  3. Jesus returns, receives the disciples’ prayers, administers the sacrament, and teaches about Israel, Gentiles, covenants, and scripture.
  4. Jesus confirms His Church’s name and grants three disciples continued earthly ministry without suffering death.
  5. The Church enjoys peace and common ownership for a hundred and sixty-seven years before pride, class divisions, and persecution spread.
  6. The Nephite nation perishes in warfare, and Moroni hides its record in Cumorah.
