He who comes to know our great Power will become invisible, and fire will not be able to consume him. Instead it will purge and destroy all that you possess. For everyone in whom my form appears will be saved, from seven days up to one hundred and twenty years — those whom I have compelled to gather everything that has fallen, and the writings of our great Power, so that he may inscribe your name in our great light. Their thoughts and their works will be brought to an end, purged and scattered and destroyed, and gathered in a place where no one can see within it. But you will see me, and you will prepare your dwelling places in our great Power.

Come to know how what has departed came to be, so that you may learn to discern what lives and is still becoming: what that aeon looks like, what kind it is, and how it will come to be. Why do you not ask what kind you yourself will become, rather than asking how you came to be?

Discern the magnitude of the water — that it is immeasurable and incomprehensible, both its beginning and its end. It supports the earth; it moves through the air where the gods and the angels dwell. But in him who is exalted above all these there is fear and light, and in him my writings are revealed. I have given them as a service to the creation of physical things, for no one can stand without that One, nor can the aeon live without him. It is he who possesses what is within him by discerning in purity.

Now behold the Spirit and know where he is. He gave himself to humanity so that they might receive life from him every day, since he holds his life within himself and gives it to them all.

Then the darkness, together with Hades, seized the fire. And he will release from himself what belongs to me. His eyes could not endure my light. After the spirits and the waters moved, the remainder came into being: the whole aeon of creation, along with its powers. Fire came forth from them, and the Power came into the midst of the powers. And the powers longed to see my image. And the soul became its likeness.
