About this book
What if the strongest walls offer no safety from the secrets inside?
A lonely fortress stands beside a wild coast. Inside, danger, secrets and desire share the stone corridors. In Terror Keep, Edgar Wallace brings the brooding world of the old dark house to a coastal castle, where the promise of shelter sits uneasily beside the threat of harm.
Hidden facts drive this mystery forward. Someone knows something; someone else wants it kept quiet. Wallace leaves you to weigh what people reveal and what they conceal. With quick pacing and a puzzle to chew on, the story invites you to question whom to trust when attraction and risk draw close.

A Mad Genius Walks Out of Broadmoor
The story opens in Broadmoor, the asylum for the criminally insane, where old John Flack shuffles around the grounds. Other patients whisper that he is the cleverest crook in the world, with nine murders to his name. He fills hundreds of exercise books with plans for crimes. His earlier sixty-three books are his pride, and he says he can find nothing to improve in them.
One day Chief Inspector Simpson of Scotland Yard visits him and warns that these books must never reach the wrong hands. Flack answers with threats. He says he will slip out one night and settle accounts with two men. One is George Ravini, who betrayed him for money. The other is J. G. Reeder, the detective who helped to catch him.
