Paul arrives in Iconium and finds a welcome
Paul goes up to Iconium after fleeing Antioch. Two men travel with him, Demas and Hermogenes the coppersmith. The narrator says plainly that both are full of hypocrisy and flatter Paul as though they loved him. He tells them of the great works of Christ and of his resurrection.
A man named Onesiphorus hears that Paul is near. He sets out with his wife and children to take Paul into his house. He has never seen Paul, only been given a description. So he stands on the royal road to Lystra, measuring each traveler against it.
