In Chapter 2, the Time Traveller demonstrates a small machine that disappears when the Psychologist presses its lever, leaving the guests debating whether it travels through time. He then shows them a nearly finished larger machine and declares his intention to explore time himself, though the witnesses remain unconvinced.
