Le Morte Darthur, Chapter 421 — краткое содержание

Что происходит

1. Launcelot hears heavenly singing, kneels, and prays for a glimpse of what he seeks; the chamber opens in brilliant light.
2. A voice forbids him to enter, but he sees the holy vessel, angels, and a priest apparently celebrating Mass.
3. Thinking the priest needs support, Launcelot enters despite the warning and approaches the silver table.
4. A fiery breath strikes his face, leaving him unable to move, hear, or speak; unseen hands carry him outside.
5. The next morning, people find him alive and place him in bed, where he lies motionless for four days.
6. An old man insists that Launcelot lives and urges the others to care for him until God restores him.
