Zaginiona księżniczka z Krainy Oz in short

The Lost Princess of Oz follows one disappearance and the many people it sets in motion. Ozma vanishes, and so does nearly every tool that could find her. Two parties set out separately, one led by Dorothy and the Wizard from the Emerald City, the other by a cookie cook and a boastful frog from the Yip Country.

What Zaginiona księżniczka z Krainy Oz is about

What happens in a fairyland when its ruler wakes one morning and is simply gone? In The Lost Princess of Oz, Dorothy discovers Princess Ozma is missing, and later she and her friends find the Magic Picture gone from its wall. That same night Glinda loses her Great Book of Records, and far away a cookie cook loses a jeweled dishpan.

L. Frank Baum wrote this Oz tale late in his life. He says the idea came from a girl of eleven who wondered how Oz would feel if Ozma were ever lost. You get a quest with two search parties, both heading toward the same hidden thief.

Dla kogo. Readers who enjoy cheerful adventures, talking animals, unusual cities and resourceful friends working together will love this book. It also suits those drawn to humorous mysteries.

Ozma vanishes and takes her magic with her

It begins on an ordinary morning in the Emerald City. Dorothy goes to ask Ozma if she may borrow the Red Wagon.

The ivory and gold bed is empty. She searches every room and finds no trace of her friend. In the corridor she meets Scraps, the Patchwork Girl, a living girl made from a quilt, who joins the hunt at once.

Nobody has seen Ozma since she said good night. The girls pull back the curtains of the Magic Picture, which can show anyone anywhere, and find only a blank wall. Then comes the second blow. Glinda's Great Book of Records is gone, and the Wizard's black bag of magic tools has been stolen too. Dorothy reasons that the thief must live in Oz, since nobody can cross the Deadly Desert.

When the tools for finding the truth are stolen, ordinary friends must search with their own wits.
