Tarzan i Zaginione Imperium in short

At its simplest, this is a rescue story. A father asks Tarzan to find his son, and Tarzan follows the trail into a sunken canyon where a lost Roman cohort has survived for eighteen hundred years. Two heroes arrive by separate paths, and each is caught and tested by the rulers of two rival cities.

What Tarzan i Zaginione Imperium is about

What would you do if the legend your neighbors fear turned out to hold real soldiers in Roman armor? That is the problem Tarzan of the Apes faces in this adventure by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

Doctor von Harben, a missionary, has lost track of his son Erich, a young scholar who went to find the Lost Tribe of the Wiramwazi Mountains. Tarzan sets out alone, with his little monkey Nkima on his shoulder. Behind the mountain wall he finds a sunken canyon where the heirs of a lost Roman cohort still keep the laws and the arenas of the Caesars. You follow two heroes, two rival cities and the friends who help a stranger from the jungle, and the tale stops before the end.

Dla kogo. You will enjoy this if you love lost worlds, gladiator arenas, daring escapes and loyal animal companions, or the old pulp adventures where a scholar, a jungle hero and a clever monkey share one wild plot.

A worried father asks the ape-man for help

Tarzan and his Waziri warriors are camped in the jungle, hunting a cattle-killing lion. Nkima hears strangers coming and grows excited, sure that everything wants to eat him.

The visitor is Doctor von Harben, a missionary who has marched far to find the ape-man. His only son, Erich, is a scholar of ancient languages and a fine climber. Months ago he set out for the Wiramwazi Mountains to trace the legend of a Lost Tribe of white people. Some of his porters have crept home and avoid all questions. Local people believe the mountains hold bloodthirsty ghosts.

Tarzan agrees at once but refuses an escort, because alone he travels faster and learns more. He tells Muviro to keep the fighting men ready, takes Nkima, and slips away by the light of a full moon.

A promise made to a friend sends Tarzan into the unknown.
