Towarzyski sezon Patty in short
Patty's Social Season follows one winter in the life of a young New Yorker who comes out with great fanfare. She enjoys dances and costumes, but she also starts a club to bring happiness to tired working women, and she treats them as guests instead of causes. A man named Lansing divides her friends, and she tries to keep the peace.
What Towarzyski sezon Patty is about
Picture yourself on a drawing room floor, walled in by florist's boxes so thickly that your friends must pull you out for lunch. That is where Patty Fairfield sits on the day she comes out into New York society. She jokes that the whole city has gone mad.
Patty's Social Season was written by Carolyn Wells, an American author of many light, lively novels. It follows one winter in the life of a golden-haired young woman who would rather have fun than fall in love. You get quick, funny talk, an inventive charity club, a Christmas house party and three men who would each like to win her.
Dla kogo. You will enjoy this if you like cheerful period comedies, witty banter, costume balls, and heroines who charm everyone while insisting they have no time for romance.

Patty comes out buried in flowers
The book opens on the day of Patty Fairfield's debut in her New York home. She sits in the long drawing room, hemmed in by boxes of flowers. Patty declares the whole thing an optical illusion.
One huge box holds roses from Big Bill Farnsworth, a Westerner Patty liked last summer. His card is stiff and formal, and Patty wonders about that. At the reception she says Oh, thank you so many times that she feels like a rubber stamp.
Then Mr. Galbraith, a Chicago man who made a sudden fortune, draws her aside. He fears his headstrong daughter Mona is taken with a man named Lansing, whom he thinks a fortune hunter. Patty promises to help.
Patty's debut is a party, but it also sets the story's first problem in her hands.
