Jasnowidzenie i moce okultystyczne in short

The course follows one line of thought. Our senses are limited, so other senses may exist. Thoughts are vibrations that pass between minds, and the astral senses extend that power across space, into the past and, rarely, the future.

What Jasnowidzenie i moce okultystyczne is about

A farmer cannot sleep. Every night between ten and midnight he hears someone pounding iron, and he believes a village blacksmith is behind it. A physician visits the smith and gets a blunt confession. This small case, told late in the book, shows the claim of the whole course: thoughts are real forces that cross space and touch other minds.

Clairvoyance and Occult Powers is a set of twenty lessons credited to Swami Panchadasi, the pen name of William Walker Atkinson. It argues in the Western way, with reports from the Society for Psychical Research and the words of scientists. You get a clear map of his system, from telepathy to astral travel, with exercises and warnings.

Dla kogo. This book suits readers curious about telepathy, second sight and the early twentieth century occult revival. It also suits anyone who likes case histories and step by step mental exercises.

Your five senses are only narrow windows

The course opens by attacking a common boast, that a person believes only what the senses report. Atkinson says the senses are imperfect tools. Colour blindness and optical illusions show how easily they mislead. Even the motion of the earth, which every sense denies, is known only through reason.

He asks what a sense really is. The eye is a camera, the ear a receiver, and the nerves are wires that carry messages to the brain. Behind it all sits the real knower, the mind. Touch is the original sense, and the others are its specialised forms. Each sense added to a creature widens its world.

So further senses would be no stranger than those we have. Occultists call them the astral senses. He insists they are superphysical, not supernatural, just as the telegraph once seemed beyond nature. A mind that knows how narrow the senses are can allow for more.
