Shakespeare's Sonnet 6
Shakespeare szavai mellett egy egyszerű, mai nyelvű változat, sorról sorra. Ingyen olvasható.
Then let not winter’s ragged hand deface,In thee thy summer, ere thou be distill’d:Make sweet some vial; treasure thou some placeWith beauty’s treasure ere it be self-kill’d.That use is not forbidden usury,Which happies those that pay the willing loan; That’s for thyself to breed another thee,Or ten times happier, be it ten for one;Ten times thyself were happier than thou art,If ten of thine ten times refigur’d thee:Then what could death do if thou shouldst depart,Leaving thee living in posterity?Be not self-will’d, for thou art much too fairTo be death’s conquest and make worms thine heir.
Then do not let winter’s rough hand ruin the summer within you before your essence has been preserved. Fill some vial with sweetness; enrich some place with beauty’s treasure before it destroys itself. Lending at interest is not forbidden when it makes those who willingly repay the loan happy. For you, that means producing another you—or being ten times happier, with ten children for one parent. You would be ten times happier than you are if ten children of yours reproduced your image ten times. Then what could death do if you departed, leaving yourself alive in your descendants? Do not be stubborn, for you are far too beautiful to be conquered by death and leave worms as your heirs.

Is the modern version the whole text?
Yes. Every line of the sonnet is here in plain modern English, in the same order, beside Shakespeare's own words.
