Sažetak djela My Ántonia, Chapter 16

Chapter 16 od 45 · Book 1: The Shimerdas · 5 min za čitanje poglavlja

In Chapter 16, the neighbors bury Mr. Shimerda in falling snow, and Grandfather offers a prayer that asks for mercy rather than judgment. Ántonia comforts Yulka during the funeral, while the narrator’s account of the grave years afterward shows how deeply this place remains connected to his feelings. Jelinek and Ambrosch dig through frozen ground, and the neighbors gather for Mr. Shimerda’s burial on Saturday.
