Chapter 7 z 28 · chapter — czas czytania: 19 min
In Chapter 7, Sir Kenneth asks Thomas de Vaux to admit Saladin’s physician to Richard’s sickroom, but national prejudice and fear of poison block his request. A visit to Kenneth’s sick squire shows the physician’s apparent skill and Kenneth’s generosity, bringing the two knights onto friendlier terms without settling Richard’s treatment.
Co się wydarza

- Sir Kenneth presents Saladin’s offer of medical help, but De Vaux suspects poison and demands stronger assurances.
- Kenneth defends his independent mission and swears that he seeks only Richard’s safety.
- De Vaux visits Kenneth’s poor quarters, sees his sleeping squire, and responds warmly to the knight’s care for him.
- El Hakim orders silence and promises that the squire can speak at evening prayer if his sleep remains undisturbed.
- After discussing Roswal and hunting restrictions, the knights part more amicably, and De Vaux receives Saladin’s credentials.
