In shadowy cities far from home, a bold hero needs quick wits as much as courage.
Peter the Brazen by George F. Worts takes you into a China of secrets, intrigue and danger. A resourceful hero faces peril far from home, with little room for hesitation. He must think and fight his way out in a story built around swift action and mystery.
This is pulp adventure from 1919: quick, vivid and larger than life. Worts puts bold action at the heart of the tale, while secrets give the hero something to untangle. Read it as entertainment of its era, with a view of China shaped by the adventure fiction of its time.

A wireless star quits the sea for mystery
Peter Moore is the best wireless operator on the Pacific. His keen ears read faint signals that others hear only as scratching. At the start of the book he walks into the chief operator's office in San Francisco and resigns. He says he has had too much China.
The quitting does not last. In Chinatown a ball of red paper lands at his feet. One scrap holds a word he knows, Vandalia, the ship he used to serve. Another holds a name, Len Yang. On sailing day a veiled figure in gray is hurried aboard, and Peter takes his old berth after all.
