Questions about the 88-Book Ethiopian Bible
Contents
What are the 88 books of the Ethiopian Bible?
The 66 books of the Old and New Testament, the Deuterocanon (Tobit, Judith, the Wisdom of Solomon, Sirach, Baruch and more), and the books the Ethiopian Church adds: Enoch, Jubilees and the three Books of Meqabyan. All 88 are listed under What’s inside.
Is the Ethiopian Bible a real Bible?
It is the Bible as the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church reads it: a Christian church since the 4th century that still uses these books as scripture. It completes the Bible you own; it does not replace it.
Is it safe for a Christian to read these extra books?
Yes. They are books the early church read: the Deuterocanon that Catholic and Orthodox Bibles still keep, plus Enoch (quoted in Jude 1:14–15), Jubilees and the Books of Meqabyan. We present them as history and heritage, with an introduction before each book.
Are you saying these books belong in everyone’s Bible?
No. We do not argue about the canon. We print the 88-book canon the Ethiopian Church has read for centuries, so you can read it for yourself, in context.
Is the English easy to read?
Yes. The English is plain, without the old "thee and thou". Judge it yourself: it is free up to chapter 2.
Prices and delivery
Why is the printed book cheaper when I start free?
When you start free, you print at the cost of printing: no margin on paper, ink or binding. On its own, the printed book carries our 30-day money-back guarantee. Either way, shipping is shown at checkout.
Can I buy the printed book?
Yes: a paperback at USD 20.95 and a hardcover at USD 23.95 when you start free, or USD 26.95 and USD 30.95 on its own, each printed when you order it. Large print too. Shipping is shown at checkout. Bought on its own, a printed book carries our 30-day money-back guarantee.
Is it available in large print?
Yes, in 14 pt: USD 14.95 as a paperback and USD 17.95 as a hardcover when you start free (USD 21.95 and USD 24.95 on its own). The large print edition holds the 22 books beyond the 66, 522 pages: Enoch, Jubilees, the three Books of Meqabyan, Tobit, Judith, Sirach and more.
How is it shipped, and when does it arrive?
It is printed for you when you order and shipped with tracking. Shipping and the delivery date are shown at checkout before you pay.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes. A printed book bought on its own carries our 30-day money-back guarantee. Damaged or faulty? Tell us within two weeks and we replace it free.
Do I need the other three volumes?
No. Each volume stands on its own. Together they make The Complete Ethiopian Bible Library: four volumes for USD 39.95 when you start free, or USD 64.95 on its own.
Reading and listening
Can I read it before I pay?
Yes. Everything up to chapter 2, and a sample of the audiobook, are free with no sign-up. Start free and read and hear the whole book for 90 days. Nothing to pay today: we email you 7 days before your first payment.
