In Chapter 12, Gustavus Vassa recounts domestic service, an unsuccessful missionary application, renewed voyages, and his dismissal after challenging abuses in the Sierra Leone expedition. He petitions for compensation and African freedom, then closes by arguing that abolition benefits British commerce and that personal experience offers moral and religious instruction.
