Who Eppie is
Eppie is a toddler whose arrival interrupts Silas Marner's lonely life in Raveloe. On a snowy New Year's Eve, she wanders through his open door and sleeps by the hearth. Silas first mistakes the gleam of her bright hair for his stolen gold.
