줄거리

Anne finds little interest in Kellynch affairs at Uppercross and tries to enter into her hosts’ concerns.
Mary, Charles, and Mrs. Musgrove bring Anne conflicting complaints, which she handles with patience rather than decisive intervention.
Family visits and musical evenings improve Anne’s spirits, though her playing receives most notice when she accompanies dancing.
The Crofts occupy Kellynch at Michaelmas and visit the cottage, where talk of Mrs. Croft’s brothers unsettles Anne.
Louisa confirms that Captain Wentworth is expected and explains that his name revives Mrs. Musgrove’s grief for Richard.
The Musgroves resolve to seek Wentworth’s acquaintance, while Anne tries to prepare herself to hear him discussed.
