The Buddha on anxiety
이 페이지는 도서관의 책 요약을 바탕으로 한 내용이에요. the Buddha의 글은 아니에요.
The Buddha taught about suffering and the conditions that sustained it, rather than anxiety as a separate subject. His teachings connected distress with craving and the way the mind shaped experience. He urged people to loosen their attachment to things that could not last and to cultivate careful awareness, ethical conduct and meditation. His account of calm rested on steady personal training, with kindness and wise company supporting the path toward freedom from suffering.
Careful awareness mattered in daily life
In the Dhammapada, he contrasted alert, careful living with drifting through life without attention. He urged people not to postpone their training. This emphasis placed attention within daily thought and action, rather than treating it as a concern apart from ordinary conduct.
Patience answered anger without feeding it
He taught that answering anger with further anger prolonged suffering. Calm, patience and kindness offered a different response. His teaching therefore linked peace of mind with how people treated others, giving everyday relationships a place within the work of training.
Companions supported but could not substitute
Although he valued wise companions, he held that no person could perform another’s inner training. The Dhammapada connected a well-trained self with protection and refuge. Companionship supported that work, but responsibility for attention and conduct remained with the person undertaking it.
