Sažetak djela The Gentleman, Chapter 14

Chapter 14 od 198 · Book 4: Nelson · 3 min za čitanje poglavlja

In Chapter 14, Kit receives orders to shoot the approaching lugger’s helmsman, but instead jumps aboard, landing on its sail before confronting Black Diamond. He demands surrender from the apparently smiling man, then realizes that Black Diamond is dead when his head drops and the boat veers off course.

Što se događa

  1. The approaching Kite appears to carry Diamond back victorious, while Ding-dong orders the topsails backed.
  2. Ding-dong gives Kit a pistol and orders him into the mizzen chains to shoot the helmsman.
  3. Kit suddenly jumps onto the lugger, strikes its sail, and slides down to the deck.
  4. Black Diamond faces Kit with a strange smile but remains unsteady and makes no attack.
  5. Kit demands surrender, then recognizes Black Diamond’s death as his head falls and the tiller slips free.
