Sažetak djela Paradise Lost (Book 2)

Book 2 od 12 · 35 min čitanja: book

In Book 2, Satan’s council rejects renewed battle and settlement in Hell, choosing instead to attack the new race called Man as revenge against God. Satan undertakes the journey alone, gains passage from Sin and Death, crosses Chaos’s realm, and sights the suspended World near Heaven.

Što se događa

  1. Moloch urges open battle, Belial recommends endurance, and Mammon proposes building an independent empire within Hell.
  2. Beelzebub presents Satan’s plan to attack Man, the assembly approves, and Satan claims the dangerous scouting mission for himself.
  3. The fallen Spirits occupy themselves with contests, music, arguments, and exploration, but their wandering parties find no relief.
  4. At Hell’s gates, Sin prevents Satan from fighting Death and explains their family relationship before opening the gates.
  5. Satan struggles through the Abyss and obtains directions from Chaos by offering to restore the new World to darkness.
  6. Satan reaches calmer space, sees Heaven and the World hanging nearby, and hastens toward his target.
