Sažetak djela Frankenstein (Chapter 15)

Chapter 15 od 28 · Part 2 · 12 min čitanja: chapter

In Chapter 15, the creature reads three books and his creator’s journal, gains a sharper sense of his isolation, and prepares to seek the cottagers’ friendship. The blind De Lacey offers sympathy, but his returning companions react with horror, and Felix attacks the creature, driving him back to his hiding place.

Što se događa

  1. The creature finds books in a traveling case and uses them to think about virtue, human relationships, and his own identity.
  2. His creator’s journal reveals the circumstances of his creation and deepens his disgust at his appearance and abandonment.
  3. As autumn gives way to winter, he plans to approach the blind De Lacey alone and gain his support.
  4. De Lacey welcomes him, listens to his account of isolation, and offers help without knowing whom he addresses.
  5. The creature identifies the family as his hoped-for friends just as Felix, Safie, and Agatha return.
  6. Agatha faints, Safie flees, and Felix beats the creature, who restrains himself and escapes to his hovel.
