Chapter 13 od 28 · Part 2 · 8 min čitanja: chapter

In Chapter 13, Safie arrives at the cottage, and the creature secretly follows her lessons in language, reading, history, and human society. His growing knowledge helps him understand the family but also makes his lack of wealth, relatives, human appearance, and companionship increasingly painful.

Što se događa

  1. As spring advances, Safie arrives with a guide, and Felix’s sorrow gives way to joy.
  2. The family welcomes Safie, and the creature secretly learns from her language lessons.
  3. Safie and Agatha play music, while the household enjoys renewed happiness.
  4. Over two months, the creature learns speech and reading through Felix’s teaching and explanations of history.
  5. Lessons about violence, property, and rank lead him to question humanity and his own place among people.
  6. Learning about family bonds deepens his loneliness, though he continues to love the cottagers.
