Sažetak djela Dracula (Chapter 9)

Chapter 9 od 27 · 24 min čitanja: chapter

In Chapter 9, Mina marries Jonathan and promises to protect his troubling notebook, while Lucy’s weakness prompts Arthur to seek medical help and Seward to consult Van Helsing. Renfield’s changing behavior puzzles Seward, and Lucy’s apparent recovery gives way to a sudden decline that brings an urgent summons to Van Helsing.

Što se događa

  1. Mina finds Jonathan weak and distressed in Buda-Pesth, marries him, and seals his notebook as a sign of trust.
  2. Lucy writes cheerfully about her health and engagement, while Seward records Renfield’s escape and strange response to a passing bat.
  3. Lucy’s diary describes frightening sleep, weakness, and breathing trouble, and Arthur asks Seward to examine her without alarming her mother.
  4. Seward finds no recognizable illness and calls Van Helsing, who examines Lucy and asks for daily reports.
  5. Renfield alternates between violence, despair, collecting flies, and rejecting them, leaving Seward uncertain about the causes.
  6. After reporting improvement, Seward sends Van Helsing an urgent telegram announcing Lucy’s sudden decline.
