Sažetak djela Ben-Hur (Chapter 10)

Što se događa

1. At the ninth hour, Israelites face Jerusalem and pray before the khan returns to eating, preparing beds, and sleeping.
2. Around midnight, a cry from the roof wakes the guests, who gather outside to watch a strange light.
3. An immense ray slopes toward a nearby mountain and illuminates the faces on the roof.
4. The watchers suggest a falling star or shepherds’ fires, but others reject these explanations.
5. A venerable-looking Jew declares that the light is the ladder Jacob sees in his dream.

Na što obratiti pozornost

The speaker gives the unexplained light a religious meaning after the watchers reject ordinary explanations. His claim closes the scene without independent confirmation.
