Book 3: True and False Happiness Book III, no. 68, Song VI av 82 · 2 min att läsa song
In Song VI, the speaker describes the orderly movements of stars, elements, and seasons as signs of divine guidance and love. The song connects this harmony with a universal purpose: everything seeks the Good and depends for its continued existence on returning toward its source.
Vad händer
- The speaker urges the listener to study the heavens to understand God’s laws.
- Celestial bodies follow their courses without rivalry, while love maintains the recurring passage of night and day.
- Opposing elements work together, and the seasons sustain living things before taking their lives away.
- One divine ruler directs these movements; without that sustaining power, the world collapses into disorder.
- The song declares that everything seeks the Good and returns toward the source of its existence.
