Chapter 32 av 44 · 22 min att läsa chapter

In Chapter 32, Locksley oversees the spoils, Cedric frees Gurth, and the Black Knight releases Maurice de Bracy while securing the outlaws’ friendship. The Friar returns with Isaac of York, whose treatment exposes religious cruelty beneath the gathering’s fellowship, before Prior Aymer of Jorvaulx appears as another valuable prisoner.

Vad händer

  1. Locksley gathers the outlaws, orders a search for the missing Friar, and offers Cedric a share of the spoils.
  2. Cedric refuses the plunder, thanks Wamba, and grants Gurth freedom and land at Wamba’s request.
  3. Rowena thanks her rescuers, rebukes De Bracy, and leaves with Cedric; Athelstane’s funeral procession follows.
  4. The Black Knight frees De Bracy, receives Locksley’s horn, and watches the orderly distribution of the spoils.
  5. The Friar returns with Isaac, claims to have converted him, and threatens him until the Black Knight intervenes.
  6. The Knight knocks the Friar down in an exchange of blows; Locksley demands Isaac’s ransom and receives Prior Aymer.
