Was Robin Hood a real person?
No single historical person has been securely identified as Robin Hood. His legend grew through ballads and later retellings, which do not all agree. Real outlaws may have helped shape the stories, but the familiar hero cannot be treated as a proven historical figure.
Did Robin Hood always steal from the rich to give to the poor?
Helping the poor is central to the familiar Robin Hood, but it is not equally prominent in every early story. Older tales often focus on loyalty, clever tricks, hostility to corrupt officials, and generosity towards particular people in trouble.
