Great Expectations: resumo de Chapter 16

O que acontece

1. Joe’s account and the evidence establish a sudden attack, with nothing stolen and a filed convict’s iron left beside Pip’s sister.
2. Pip suspects Orlick or the stranger, fears his own involvement through the weapon, and repeatedly postpones telling Joe his secret.
3. The police pursue mistaken theories and leave without finding the attacker.
4. Pip’s sister suffers lasting difficulties with movement, sight, hearing, memory, and speech, but becomes more patient.
5. After Mr. Wopsle’s great-aunt dies, Biddy moves in and cares for Pip’s sister, giving Joe some relief.
6. Biddy identifies the repeated hammer drawing as Orlick; Pip’s sister welcomes him eagerly instead of accusing him.
