Chapter 23 di 37 · 8 min per leggere: chapter

In Chapter 23, Passepartout trades his clothes for food money and joins an acrobatic troupe to secure passage to America, but spots Phileas Fogg during the performance. He abandons his place in a human pyramid to reach his master, and Fogg pays compensation before they board an American steamer with Aouda.

Cosa succede

  1. Passepartout exchanges his European clothes for a worn Japanese outfit and silver coins, then buys breakfast.
  2. Seeking passage to America, he follows an advertisement to William Batulcar’s troupe and gains work as a clown.
  3. Without rehearsal, Passepartout takes a place at the base of a human pyramid supported on long false noses.
  4. He recognizes his master among the spectators, rushes away from his position, and causes the pyramid to collapse.
  5. Phileas Fogg pays Batulcar compensation, and he, Aouda, and Passepartout board the American steamer at half past six.
