Chapter 5 / 12 · 21 perc a fejezet elolvasására

In Chapter 5, Mole catches the scent of his old home, follows Rat reluctantly onward, and breaks down until his friend understands and takes him back. Rat helps restore warmth and confidence at Mole End, welcomes caroling field mice, and provides supper, while Mole recognizes that his modest home still matters alongside his wider life.

Mi történik?

  1. Returning from an outing with Otter, Mole and Rat pass village windows glowing with domestic warmth.
  2. Mole smells his old home, but Rat presses onward without understanding his plea, and Mole follows in distress.
  3. When Mole breaks down, Rat recognizes his mistake and insists they retrace their steps.
  4. Mole follows his nose to Mole End, where Rat lights a fire and encourages him to appreciate his belongings.
  5. Field mice sing outside, and Rat welcomes them, sends one shopping, and organizes a shared supper.
  6. After their guests leave, Mole settles into bed, valuing his home without wishing to give up his wider life.
