Shrnutí Ivanhoe: Chapter 12

Chapter 12 z 44 · Čtení chapter zabere 17 min.

In Chapter 12, the Disinherited Knight wins the general tournament with decisive help from a black-armored knight, despite Prince John’s reluctance to honor him. When the victor’s helmet is removed before Rowena, he is revealed as Ivanhoe, Cedric’s banished son, and collapses from a wound in his side.

Co se stane

  1. Knights assemble in two balanced companies, while Athelstane joins Brian de Bois-Guilbert’s side out of jealousy over Rowena.
  2. The general combat becomes bloody, and Front-de-Bœuf and Athelstane join the Templar in attacking the Disinherited Knight.
  3. The Black Knight defeats both attackers, allowing the Disinherited Knight to overcome the Templar before Prince John stops the fighting.
  4. Prince John awards the prize to the absent Black Knight, then names the Disinherited Knight champion instead.
  5. The marshals remove the victor’s helmet, revealing Cedric’s banished son, Ivanhoe, whom Rowena crowns before he collapses.
  6. The marshals open Ivanhoe’s armor and discover a lance wound in his side.
