Shrnutí knihy Fathers and Sons: Chapter 6

Chapter 6 z 28 · 5 min. na přečtení kapitoly

In Chapter 6, Bazarov argues with Paul Petrovitch over scientific authority, poetry, and accepted principles, while Nikolai Petrovitch tries to ease the tension by asking for practical help. After the brothers leave, Arkady challenges Bazarov’s harsh judgment of his uncle and begins telling his story.

Co se stane

  1. Over tea, Bazarov praises German scholars and says he accepts facts rather than trusting authorities.
  2. Paul Petrovitch questions Bazarov about art and principles, and Bazarov resists being questioned about his beliefs.
  3. Nikolai Petrovitch interrupts and requests agricultural advice, which Bazarov agrees to provide while dismissing the relevance of Liebig’s discoveries.
  4. Paul Petrovitch complains bitterly about being out of touch with younger minds, then leaves with his brother.
  5. Arkady reproaches Bazarov for offending his uncle and begins a story intended to encourage a fairer judgment.
