Shrnutí knihy Fathers and Sons: Chapter 15

Chapter 15 z 28 · 7 min. na přečtení kapitoly

In Chapter 15, Bazarov and Arkady visit Anna Sergievna Odintsov, whose calm attention unsettles Bazarov and draws him into an unusually eager conversation. Her family history explains her independence and wealth, and her invitation leads the friends toward Nikolsköe instead of the home where Bazarov is expected.

Co se stane

  1. Before the visit, Bazarov questions the gossip about Madame Odintsov's marriage and suggests that wealth explains her choice.
  2. Anna receives the friends, and Arkady notices Bazarov's unexpected awkwardness.
  3. The narrator recounts Anna's family losses, marriage, inheritance, and disregard for local gossip.
  4. Bazarov eagerly discusses scientific subjects with Anna, who treats Arkady with friendly but brotherly affection.
  5. Anna invites both men to Nikolsköe, and Bazarov agrees to make the visit despite his dismissive remarks about her.
  6. Three days afterward, they travel toward Nikolsköe, and Bazarov admits that people expect him at home.
