Shrnutí Dracula: Chapter 5

Chapter 5 z 27 · Čtení chapter zabere 15 min.

In Chapter 5, Mina Murray describes her preparations for married life, while Lucy Westenra receives three proposals and accepts Arthur Holmwood rather than John Seward or Quincey P. Morris. Seward turns to studying R. M. Renfield after his rejection, while Morris arranges a friendly gathering with Seward and Holmwood.

Co se stane

  1. Mina writes about learning shorthand and typing to help Jonathan, and asks Lucy for news.
  2. Lucy admits that she loves Arthur Holmwood and describes the doctor he introduces to her.
  3. Lucy refuses proposals from John Seward and Quincey P. Morris, who both offer their friendship.
  4. Lucy joyfully accepts Arthur, describing their embrace and kisses rather than recounting his proposal.
  5. Seward records his distress and examines Renfield, questioning whether his own methods are cruel.
  6. Morris invites Arthur to join him and Seward for a toast, and Arthur accepts by telegram.
