Chapter 2 z 26 · Čtení chapter zabere 2 min.
In Chapter 2, earnestness leads toward Nirvana, while heedlessness is linked with death, and the verses urge mindfulness, restraint, and meditation. Through images of an island, a mountain, a race, and fire, they show how steady effort protects the wise person and frees the mendicant from bonds.
Co se stane
- The opening verses contrast earnestness with heedlessness and describe steady, meditative people attaining Nirvana.
- Mindfulness, pure actions, restraint, and thoughtful living increase a person's glory and provide protection like an island against floods.
- The wise reject vanity and lust, value earnestness, and gain joy through meditation.
- Mountain and racing images show the wise rising above vanity and advancing beyond the heedless.
- Maghavan gains rule over the gods through earnestness, while the reflective Bhikshu burns his bonds and approaches Nirvana.
