Water Margin, Chapter 3: riassunto

Chapter 3 di 71 · 32 min per leggere: chapter

In Chapter 3, Zhao shelters the fugitive Lu Da and arranges his ordination as Lu Zhishen at Mount Wutai, where Abbot Zhizhen protects him despite the monks’ objections. After two drunken outbreaks bring injuries and destruction, the abbot withdraws that protection and prepares to send him elsewhere with money and a letter.

Cosa succede

  1. Old Jin rescues Lu Da from possible recognition, and Zhao offers him shelter after clearing up a jealous misunderstanding.
  2. When constables begin asking questions, Zhao arranges for Lu Da to become a monk at Mount Wutai.
  3. Abbot Zhizhen approves the ordination despite objections, names him Lu Zhishen, and repeatedly excuses his misconduct.
  4. Zhishen steals wine, attacks monastery workers, and receives a warning after the abbot stops the fighting.
  5. Months afterward, he orders weapons, obtains wine through deception, and destroys part of a pavilion and the gate statues.
  6. After Zhishen assaults monks and fights a large armed group, the abbot arranges his departure with Zhao’s consent.
