Cosa succede

1. The Utopians explain their grounds for war, distinguishing injuries to allied merchants from losses affecting their own treasury.
2. They praise bloodless victories and offer rewards for killing or capturing enemy leaders before encouraging internal disputes and neighboring attacks.
3. They spend accumulated wealth on mercenaries, especially the Zapolets, whose deaths they regard without concern.
4. Their own soldiers volunteer for foreign service, fight beside relatives, and use disciplined formations, reserves, ambushes, and concealed weapons.
5. They respect truces, protect crops and most unarmed people, and distinguish surrendered towns from places captured by force.
6. Conquered peoples finance war expenses and continuing revenues, while the Utopians try to keep warfare outside their island.
