The Time Machine, Chapter 2: riassunto

Chapter 2 di 17 · 6 min per leggere: chapter

In Chapter 2, the Time Traveller demonstrates a small machine that disappears when the Psychologist presses its lever, leaving the guests debating whether it travels through time. He then shows them a nearly finished larger machine and declares his intention to explore time himself, though the witnesses remain unconvinced.

Cosa succede

  1. The Time Traveller displays a small model and explains that its two levers control travel toward the future or the past.
  2. He uses the Psychologist’s finger to press a lever, and the model spins, fades, and disappears.
  3. The guests question where the model goes, and the Psychologist explains why rapid movement through time might make it invisible.
  4. The Time Traveller leads everyone to his laboratory and shows them a nearly complete larger machine.
  5. He insists that he intends to explore time, but the guests remain uncertain and Filby winks at the narrator.
