Cosa succede

1. Theodorick wakes Kenneth privately, leads him in penitential prayer, and checks the password identifying his mission from the Council of Christian Princes.
2. With his eyes covered, Theodorick guides Kenneth through a concealed passage into a richly furnished chapel.
3. Kenneth worships before a wooden relic marked VERA CRUX, while Theodorick remains outside the chapel threshold.
4. Left alone, Kenneth hears a bell near dawn and watches boys and veiled women enter in procession.
5. A veiled woman drops two rosebuds, and Kenneth recognizes his beloved through her hand, ruby ring, and dark hair.
6. The procession departs and the lights vanish; Kenneth cherishes the flowers as the narrator explains Edith’s affection and their social barriers.
