Cosa succede

1. Shaken by Marya Timofyevna’s death and the catastrophe involving Liza, Shatov considers reporting his suspicions despite having no proof.
2. Marya Shatov arrives seeking work and temporary lodging, insisting that her return does not restore their marriage.
3. Overjoyed and anxious about her health, Shatov obtains tea, food, and money from Kirillov.
4. Erkel promises release from the group and arranges to collect Shatov to locate the buried printing press.
5. The narrator explains that Erkel serves the murder plot and that Marya’s arrival distracts Shatov from danger.
6. Shatov tends Marya as painful spasms interrupt their discussions of work, beliefs, and the suspected responsibility for Marya Timofyevna’s death.
