Chapter 21 di 28 · 18 min per leggere: chapter

In Chapter 21, the Persian recounts his attempts to monitor Erik, uncover his entrances, and protect Christine Daae from his jealousy. After Christine’s abduction, he leads the Vicomte Raoul de Chagny into Erik’s hidden house, only to recognize the room they enter as a torture chamber.

Cosa succede

  1. Erik nearly drowns the Persian at the lake, then reveals that a reed allows him to breathe and sing underwater.
  2. The Persian discovers Christine’s secret passage and confronts Erik, who insists that Christine loves him and returns freely.
  3. The Persian locates a spring-operated entrance in the third cellar and learns that Christine loves the Vicomte Raoul de Chagny.
  4. After Christine’s abduction, the Persian arms Raoul and teaches him a posture that protects against Erik’s strangling lasso.
  5. They enter Erik’s house through the concealed opening and land in a room the Persian recognizes as a torture chamber.
