Emma, Volume 2, Chapter 11: riassunto

Volume 2, Chapter 11 di 55 · 13 min per leggere: chapter

In Chapter 11, Frank Churchill and Emma help plan a dance, but the growing guest list makes Randalls unsuitable and shifts their attention to the Crown Inn. Despite Mr. Woodhouse’s fears about cold air and Mrs. Weston’s concerns about supper arrangements, the planners settle practical difficulties, and Frank secures Emma’s first two dances.

Cosa succede

  1. At Randalls, Frank and Emma measure rooms for a dance, but the proposed gathering grows from five couples to at least ten.
  2. Mr. Woodhouse rejects dancing across the hallway because he fears drafts, while Emma insists that one room cannot comfortably hold everyone.
  3. The next morning, Frank proposes the Crown Inn and helps Emma answer her father’s objections about health and safety.
  4. Emma joins the Westons at the inn, where the group debates whether a distant supper room or a smaller adjoining room works better.
  5. Frank fetches Miss Bates and Jane Fairfax, while Mrs. Weston accepts the passage to the larger supper room.
  6. Everyone enjoys the arrangements, and Mr. Weston approves when Frank secures Emma for the first two dances.
