Cosa succede

1. Candide apologizes to the Baron, who explains his recovery, capture, and appointment as a chaplain in Constantinople.
2. The Baron describes receiving blows and a galley sentence after bathing naked with a young Muslim.
3. Pangloss explains that a faulty hanging leaves him alive, and a surgeon discovers this while cutting into his body.
4. After recovering and changing employers, Pangloss reaches Constantinople, where returning a woman's bouquet leads to punishment and galley slavery.
5. Pangloss recalls arguing with the Baron about their punishments until Candide ransoms them both.
6. Asked whether these experiences change his beliefs, Pangloss insists on keeping his original opinion.
